How we handle your information.

Layer Logic Studio is a small studio. We collect only what we need to talk to you, do the work, and run the site — nothing else. This page explains what that means in plain English.

Who we are

Layer Logic Studio (the “Studio”, “we”, “us”) is an independent web and software studio based in the New York area, reachable at [email protected] or (929) 730-7578.

What we collect

We collect personal information in three ways, and only when you initiate contact:

  • When you email, call, or text us — your name, contact details, and whatever you tell us about your project.
  • When you sign in to a client portal — the email address you use to receive the one-time login code, and a session identifier stored in an httpOnly cookie on your device for as long as the session is active.
  • When you browse the site — your request goes through Cloudflare, our hosting and CDN provider. Cloudflare logs basic technical data (IP address, user-agent, referer) for security and abuse prevention. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic — it’s cookieless and privacy-first, recording aggregate page views and referrers without cookies, cross-site tracking, or building any profile of you. We don’t set tracking cookies, run ad-tech, or sell your data.

How we use it

Only for the obvious reasons:

  • To respond to you, do the work you’ve hired us for, and keep you informed about that work.
  • To send you operational messages — appointment confirmations, deliverables, invoices, and the occasional “your portal is ready” note. We don’t send marketing email blasts.
  • To run and improve the site itself (performance, security, accessibility).

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else who would want it for marketing.

Text messages and calls

If you text or call our line at (929) 730-7578, you’re reaching a real person at the Studio — not a bot, not a call center, not an AI. We’ll respond as soon as we reasonably can; response times vary based on what we’re working on at the moment.

By texting us, you consent to receive text responses from us related to your inquiry or project. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of further text messages, or HELP for help.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of trusted service providers to deliver the site and our work to you. Each only sees the data they need to do their part:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, CDN, and cookieless Web Analytics for this site and client portals. Sees technical traffic logs and aggregate page-view data.
  • Resend — sends transactional email on our behalf (login codes, operational notifications). Sees the recipient address and the message body.
  • Fastmail — hosts our @layerlogicstudio.com mailboxes. Stores email you send to us.
  • GitHub — where the site’s source code lives. No client personal data is stored in source.

We may also disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, etc.). We’ll do the minimum required and tell you when we can.

Cookies

The main marketing site doesn’t set tracking cookies — our traffic analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless. Cloudflare may set a small security cookie (__cf_bm or similar) for bot management. Client portals set an httpOnly session cookie after you sign in — strictly to keep you logged in. That’s it.

Your rights

You can always:

  • Ask us what we have on file for you, and we’ll tell you.
  • Ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements, e.g. invoices).
  • Opt out of further communication from us, in any channel, at any time.
  • Reach a human about anything privacy-related at [email protected].

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the European GDPR. We honor those requests on the same channel above.

Children

Our services aren’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy in a material way, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top, and — if the change affects how we handle data we’ve already collected — we’ll let affected clients know directly.
